Over the past 30 years there has been an abundance of research on the negative health impact of stress, the positive effects of meditation in reducing that impact, and other benefits of meditation. Over the years he has published hundreds of articles on the negative impact of stress and the effectiveness of the relaxation response in combating it. Articles investigate the usefulness of meditation in combating anxiety, cardiac problems, chronic pain, menopause, infertility, hypertension, and many more issues.

The world-reknowned Mayo Clinic offers a health information site to the public, and recommends meditation as part of the treatment strategy for many ailments.
